Beware Latest NHS Vaccine Scam

The latest NHS vaccine scam doing the rounds is the most convincing we have seen to date. Please be cautious and feel free to share.

The text reads as follows, ‘we have identified that you are eligible to apply for your vaccine. For more information, and to apply, follow here: [link redacted]’.

Clicking the link takes the victim to a webpage that has been made to look like the NHS website. If you progress through the application process, you’re prompted to fill in your name, date of birth, address, and payment card details.

The site looks incredibly similar to the NHS website, even featuring a ‘Read before applying’ box which encourages victims to read the information on the vaccine before filling in an application. This is particularly unusual for a phishing scam, as it almost encourages you to stop and think about applying before doing so. This makes an already convincing scam seem even more legitimate.

The colours, branding and NHS logo are all on point, however the url is a form of ‘uk-application-form.com’ which is not an NHS domain or website address.

If you receive this text, do not follow the link. The NHS will not ask you for bank details or payment details.

Burglaries – Dowbridge Kirkham

Burglaries – Dowbridge Kirkham

Please remain vigilant and have a look at our crime prevention advice after 4 burglaries  occurred in our area. We have been informed that 3 burglaries occurred at properties in the Dowbridge area of Kirkham and 1 property on Kirkham Road, Freckleton.

The burglaries occurred on the night of 25th January between 18:50-20:40. We believe that the same offender has committed all 4 burglaries as properties have been targetted via patio doors and rear windows.

If you have any information relating to the burglaries, please call 101.

Please remain vigilant and keep properties (including windows), locked and secure and remove any valuables from sight.

If you see anything suspicious, please call 101 or if there is a crime in progress, 999.

CENSUS 2021

Census 2021 will provide a snapshot of modern society

Households across Manchester including the Fylde will soon be asked to take part in Census 2021.

The census is a once-in-a-decade survey that gives us the most accurate estimate of all the people and households in England and Wales. It has been carried out every decade since 1801, with the exception of 1941.

It will be the first run predominantly online, with households receiving a letter with a unique access code, allowing them to complete the questionnaire on their computers, phones or tablets.

“A successful census will ensure everyone from local government to charities can put services and funding in the places where they are most needed,” Iain Bell, deputy national statistician at the Office for National Statistics, said.

“This could mean things like doctors’ surgeries, schools and new transport routes. That’s why it is so important everyone takes part and we have made it easier for people to do so online on any device, with help and paper questionnaires for those that need them.”

Census day will be on March 21, but households across the country will receive letters with online codes allowing them to take part from early March.

The census will include questions about your sex, age, work, health, education, household size and ethnicity. And, for the first time, there will be a question asking people whether they have served in the armed forces, as well as voluntary questions for those aged 16 and over on sexual orientation and gender identity.

Results will be available within 12 months, although personal records will be locked away for 100 years, kept safe for future generations.

For more information, visit census.gov.uk.
