CARRIAGEWAY RESURFACING WORKS and culvert repairs – B5259 Ribby Road, Wrea Green
Lancashire County Council will be carrying out essential carriageway resurfacing works on Ribby Road, Wrea Green, between A583 Blackpool Road/Kirkham By Pass, Kirkham to Manor Road, Wrea Green.
The works are scheduled to commence from 0930hrs on 17 September 2016 and subject to weather conditions, will be completed by 1530hrs on Friday 14 October 2016.
In order to undertake the works it will be necessary to close the road between the hours of 0930 and 1530 hours each weekday Monday to Friday. Vehicular access to properties on the closed length including Ribby Village Leisure Park, Browns Lane, Wray Crescent, Willow Drive/Ash Grove will be maintained whenever and wherever possible from either end as necessary via the diversion route, but vehicular access through the working area past the workforce and plant will not be possible. For the bulk of the period vehicular access to Ribby Village Leisure Park and Browns Lane will be maintained via the diversion route from the junction with the A583Blackpool Road/ Kirkham By Pass. If you would normally leave your vehicle on Ribby Road within the closed length during the hours of the above road closure periods you will need to find an alternative location. A signed diversion route will be in operation during the road closure via B5259 Ribby Road, A583 Blackpool Road/Preston New Road, B5260 Fox Lane Ends/Station Road, B5259 Ribby Road and the reverse direction.
Lancashire County Council is still awaiting the removal of the medium pressure gas main from the culvert and if in the unlikely event that the removal of the gas main and the repairs to the culvert have not been completed by the start of the above resurfacing scheme, I confirm that the resurfacing scheme start date will not be delayed. Until the completion of these culvert repairs the temporary traffic signals will remain in operation.
