Message from Our Policeman

Wrea Green Residents

Firstly I would like to welcome you to the first of my updates using the In The Know service. I aim to send regular updates via this service to keep the residents of Wrea Green in touch with local Police operations and local crimes. I will also send information regarding significant incidents that may affect day to day living in the village. This might include road traffic collisions or suspicious activity.

Update Police have arrested two local males linked to a recent spate of burglaries in the Warton/Freckleton area. These crimes are a reminder to be mindful of home security during the warmer months.

Please make sure windows and doors on your homes, garages and sheds are secured when you’re away from home or when sleeping.

Other measures you may want to consider are:

Key operated locks should be fitted to all your windows and doors.

Fit good quality deadlocks to your exterior doors.

Install a movement sensitive light outside your external doors.

Fit a light timer devise for you main rooms.

Have a chain and peep hole on your front door.

Consider fitting a letterbox restrictor to prevent theft of mail or access to your locks.

Keep your car or house keys out of view but in an easily accessible place, not in door lock.

Before opening the door ask for callers’ identification.

Fitting a Burglar alarm will greatly improve your household security. ·

Protectively mark your valuable property.

You can do this simply by using an Ultra –violet pen to mark your property with your full postcode.

Thank you

PCSO 7413 Sterling
