Jan – 3 March – Crime Statistics

Kirkham and surrounding areas – Crime information

 1st January 2015 – 3rd March

Burglary in dwelling (homes)  7

Burglary other than in dwelling  16

Criminal Damage to dwelling 6

Theft of a motor vehicle  9

Theft from a motor vehicle  10

Criminal damage to vehicles  19

Theft of pedal cycles  2

So far this year,

Burglaries (or attempts) in dwellings (houses and flats), have taken place on: First Avenue in Clifton, Bleasdale Avenue, in Kirkham (attempted), Willow Drive, in Wrea Green (attempted), Thompson Street in Wesham, Hornby Drive in Newton x 2 homes, Roman Way, in Kirkham (attempted).

You will see from the above that three out of the seven homes were ‘attempted’ burglaries so the burglar(s) were unsuccessful. Upon checking the details further on the incident logs I found out that:

1) The offender tried to ‘jemmy’ a wooden door but failed to gain access;

2) An offender tried to force a UPVC rear patio door but may have been disturbed by a neighbour;

3) An offender broke a downstairs toilet window at the front of a house and could have been clearly seen by homes opposite so may have changed his/her mind.

You can’t beat good locks and good neighbours for crime prevention – that’s where Neighbourhood Watch comes into its own.

PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU DON’T BECOME A VICTIM OF CRIME IN 2015
