Its been just over three months since we introduced our brand new team Fylde Rural Task Force and we thought we’d give you an update around what we’ve been up to…
Whilst we are a rural team, we also have responsibility for some urban issues ongoing across the Fylde coast. We know that ASB and drug dealing are issues you want tackling and it’s safe to say we have been busy bees! Here are just a few of our highlights… Execution of an RSPCA warrant where there were clear animal neglect issues which is now being investigated by the RSPCA Execution of 4 x drugs warrants which have resulted in the arrest of 12 people in total Execution of a firearms warrant which resulted in arrests and £3000 of class A drugs seized In addition to the above, over £200,000 of class A and class B drugs seized and taken off the streets of the Fylde Coast A number of weapons seized and taken off the streets including two taser devices and pepper spray A dedicated daily and directed targeting plan based on the intelligence you, the public, provide us with We have further warrants which have been authorised, so may be coming through a door near you very soon! We have also created and started to implement Operation Elemental, a farm watch scheme for all of the Fylde area. This is going to be a large piece of work but keep your eyes peeled for further information on this coming soon. We have also been working with Fylde Borough Council and DVSA to target environmental waste, fly tipping and stolen vehicles, conducting joint operations which we hope to continue on a regular basis. Its not all about enforcement though. We have been busy building working relationships with a number of partner agencies. We are planning a busy summer of engagement, which will hopefully include the Fylde Vintage Farm show in June. We are also working closely with Blackpool Zoo to increase awareness about wildlife crime, intervention projects and have an exciting event coming up in July (we won’t spoil the Zoos announcements on this!) As always, we are here to help. You can contact us at [email protected]. If it’s something we can’t sort, we will make sure it gets sent to the right person. |
