They are part                    of a team of over 100,000 volunteers, male and female, helping                    the vulnerable people in our community every day.<\/p>\n<p>Meals on Wheels volunteers work in pairs &#8211; a driver and a helper.                    Access to a vehicle is not essential as the WRVS vehicle is                    available.<\/p>\n<p>Most of these men and women give just a couple of hours every                    six weeks to support this vital service and, in doing so, provide                    more than a meal: a friendly face, a welcome chat and a window                    on the outside world.<\/p>\n<p>In return &#8211; new friends are made and new skills learned, rewarded                    by the gratitude of those they are helping.<\/p>\n<p>Training is provided for volunteers and any out-of-pocket expenses                    are paid.<\/p>\n<p>To find out more, contact Lyn Sneap, Volunteer and Communications                    Officer.
